HOUSING PLAYERS IS MTC HISTORIC LEGACY
Since 1975, Milwaukee Tennis Classic families have provided housing for players competing in the tournament. Housing is one of the historic, distinguishing features of the MTC. The players arrive from throughout the U.S. and are introduced to their housing families. The families take over at that point and in many instances “adopt” the players during their time in the tournament, providing housing and meals; and, attending their matches.
Over those years, numerous friendships developed between the families and the players which continued for many years after the tournament. In one very special situation the women’s player was from France. She reached out to her housing family and they traveled to France to attend her wedding! That was special.
The MTC Housing Co-Chairs are seasoned tournament veterans Lindsey Beeler and Sylvia Carlevato! They bring enthusiasm and excitement to the housing process as families become engaged with the players and enjoy the experience.
